Title:

THE HEURISTIC AS A THEORETICAL- PRACTICAL SUBJECT FOR THE DIDACTICAL DESIGN AT THE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE ( FADU, UBA)

Keywords:

heuristic, science, design

Abstract:

In 1972 we developed a first "heuristic object" that we called "Epsilon Object", as an instrument of the didactics experiencing at the School of Architecture of Mar del Plata- Facultad de Arquitectura de Mar del Plata, Argentina-. The experience was repeated in some others Schools of Architecture and Design of Argentina. In 1976 we opened a "Chair of Heuristic" - Cátedra de Heurística- at our School of Architecture in Buenos Aires, as a first step within this discipline in Latinamerica. In 1997 the Cabinet of Heuristic was created as a center of investigation and teachers training. Presently both Cabinet and Chair are fully working, organizing lectures, seminars and improving the definition and boundering of the respective fields and content.

The present proposal will display the history, objectives and reaches of both institutions: Contents of these new subjects; developing of methodologies of investigation and didactics; parallelism with scientific logical- mathematical thought; the Heuristic will be defined as a present discipline - the hermeneutic- study of open methodologies, multiples, dynamics thought, systematic of the "imprecise" ( A. Moles); "problematization of problems"; ways of thinking and doing ( manual, somatic, rational, esthetic, esoteric, poetic...); automatisms, proof and error, fabulation, "invention", creation...; qualification and quantification of the "news"; artistic process at the morphological, syntactic and semiotic levels.
The designer ( architectural, graphic, landscape, theatrical, kinematic, instrumental, furniture, lighting design...) must learn to manage the field of his psychosomatic faculties so as to dominate the "design- situation", quantify the level of "new" desired and to carry on a severe metaprocess.
