Title:

ART AND ALCHEMY THE RHIZOME STRATEGY

Keywords:

Science-art,Complex thought, Alchemy, Rhizome Strategy, Creative process

Abstract:

The capacity for survival lies within the nature of Art. It is self-sustaining in its process because it is able to reconvert, mutate and generate crisscrosses. The pure essence of Alchemy, the essence of Transversal Thought, desire and logic in one and the same place. From this state, we can think of a strategy: the “Rhizome Strategy”. The rhizome is a root which neither buries nor closes itself off, it is above all a traveling root which assumes unimaginable shapes in its natural crisscross structure. In fact, it is a kind of vehicle which makes it possible to travel between different forms of knowledge. The rhizome is: thought in Art Time. Time outside of mechanical and machine time, time which rides on the senses, on desire and plans its action from that position.
If we could find the keys to this strategy, we would be able to know the crossdimensional doors which could take us out of a binary code and lead us to transversal thought. Tubes to connect different forms of knowledge.
There is a virus running through us which we must defy with the DNA of Art because the DNA of Art is not an ordinary one, it is proteinaceous to the highest degree.
This DNA possesses properties which make it capable of generating the Alchemy we need to be able to hope for change in the future.
The Rhizome Strategy has been thought of in terms of producing a virus. Art-virus. Retrovirus.
This virus would be made up of a system of icons, keywords and images which would allow us to move through or transport ourselves to another place, to travel between codes.
A traveler’s code.
The keys to unlock a system.
The Rhizome Strategy proposes:
- To generate the necessary Alchemy to distill the lead of closed codes.
- To abandon a binary form of thought for another transversal one.
- To take the particular and the universal in order to generate icons which will allow us to establish solidarity between different forms of knowledge.
- To act as Artists, using any element of technology and infiltrate the Rhizome Strategy
