Abstract:

The WWW, with own characteristics of inter-connection and synchronous way, comes providing to the users interactive spaces more and more capable to introduce new creation possibilities, learning and experimentation. The recent uses of cameras for reception and transmission of images in direct in the Web, come facilitating transformations in the user's participation and action when it incorporates the telepresence to the metaphor of these images. Starting from these interfaces, the Internet comes to increase our tele-connectivity when allowing the participation of events, presence and action experiences at the distance. The Internet explores the ubiquity sensation and simultaneity that it comes being incorporate there is times for the society through the telecommunications. Several artists come developing projects in the WWW starting from live images that project the human action in remote physical spaces transposing space-time barriers.
The proposal of this text is to do a brief report of those artistic experiences that comes facilitating cultural transformations through the user's interference and action. It is also stood out the importance of some of the precursors of the Art of the Telepresence as "Ornitorrinco in Eden " (Eduardo Kac and Ed Bennet) and " The Mercury Project " (Ken Goldberg, Michael Mascha and collaborators).
Other artistic projects that act in the construction of our perception of the reality they will be described through the possibilities of:
· synchronous exchange of information: "Rare Avis" and "Teleporting an Unknown State" (Eduardo Kac)
· remote control: " PRoP: Personal Roving Presence " (Eric Paulos and John Canny) and "The Telegarden " (Ken Goldberg and collaborators).
