Abstract:

Through my different works (that I would show), I develop a reflexion on 3D computer art as a necessary detour to regain a bodily consciousness.
On the one hand, theory of computer is related to celerity, efficiency and exactitude, on the other, to a denial of sensitivity, polysemy, and corporal experiences. Can this contrasted theory be contradicted by new and unusual ways of programing ?
Via my images I try to confuse the perception of the viewer. His eyes can't identify what they see. Strange forms move and evolve between 2D and 3D, between vegetal, animal, human and atomic kingdoms, sometimes mixing them all together, desturbing their scientific classification.
Because they are constantly 'in between', these forms have no stable determination. They achieve a symbolical meaning. They highlight evanescent, fragility and uncertainty. They allways repeat that death is intimate with life : a new sort of 'Vanitas'.
Finaly, not to be incredibly dramatic, texture and color bring a touch of mildness.

Statement After two years of having tought Computer graphic in the Bauhaus University of Weimar, and as a young artist allready doing a P.H.D, I wish to take part in the 'Invenção ? thinking the next millennium'. Artists have now to deal with a new kind of imagination, scientific (rational) and symbolic (irrational). In my researches I try to show that computer doesn't contradict the conundrum of art. My images demonstrat that sensitivity and logic can be associated by means of computer arts. Bodily expression can go beyond dataprocessing and overcome the constraints of the digital software.
For me, 'Invenção ? thinking the next millennium' will be an opportunity to meet other artists and theoreticians from other countries, and to confront my ideas and works with theirs.

If needed, I can send at any time a videotape of my works.
