Lynn Hershman Leeson is an artist and filmmaker. In her work she investigates issues such as the relationship between humans and technology, identity, surveillance and the use of media as a tool for empowerment against censorship and repression. Throughout the last 40 years, she has made pioneering contributions to the fields of photography, video, film, presentations, installations and interactive artworks, as well as online mediatic art. Awards she has received include the Siggraph Lifetime Achievement Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award of the College Art Association.
