Eden is an interactive and self-sufficient artificial ecosystem. In it, a cellular world is home to a collection of evolving virtual creatures that move around their environment producing and listening to sounds, searching for food, finding predators and possibly mating.

With time, these creatures evolve beyond the artist’s expectations and adapt themselves to the environment, adjusting themselves to the interest of the human visitors and learning ways to keep them interested and close to the work, which in turn produces more food in the virtual world and, consequently, allows them to multiply.

Eden has four seasons per year and each year lasts for 600 Eden-days. An Eden-day lasts around 15 minutes of real time.
