“A collective – of people, streets, quarters, names, buses that carry people around the streets of quarters named after persons.” This is how Cao Guimarães defines his work that, by means of closed framings and high-contrast images, builds a typographic dance based on bus signboards.

Cao Guimarães is a filmmaker and a painter. His works are exhibited in prestigious collections such as Tate Modern (United Kingdom), MoMA (USA), Guggenheim Museum (USA), Fondation Cartier (France), Colección Jumex (Mexico), Inhotim (Brazil) and Museu Thyssen-Bornemisza (Spain). He took part in many important exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, and directed nine movies selected by international movie festivals such as Cannes, Locarno, Sundance, Veneza, Berlim and Roterdan.
